Clinical Associate
Marria (She/Her) is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She received a Master of Social Work from the University of Western Ontario, and a Bachelor of Social Work from McMaster University. Marria has 10 years of experience providing treatment to clients in a variety of settings, including hospital ICU and hematology units, schools, adult and youth correctional facilities, residential treatments, community organizations, and private practice.
Marria is dedicated to providing comprehensive DBT with warmth and compassion in a non-judgmental way to her clients and people within their support network. She is experienced in treating individuals who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and people of diverse racial identities. At The DBT Clinic, Marria provides individual therapy to clients aged 14 and older, skill support to parents and caregivers, and co-facilitates the adult DBT skills group. Marria thoroughly enjoys her role as a DBT therapist and regularly engages in continued learning opportunities. She strives to work collaboratively with clients to help them move toward their goals of enhancing the quality of their life. Marria has experience working with, but not limited to, suicidal and self-injurious behaviours, difficulties with mood and anxiety, disordered eating, learning disabilities, and impulsive behaviours. In her spare time, Marria enjoys redecorating her house (or imagining potential opportunities to do so), playing with her large mixed-breed dogs Goose and Maui, watching reality TV shows, and attempting to master a range of DIY crafts.
