Clinical Associate

Leah (They/Them) is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Leah received their Master’s in Social Work with a specialization in children and families from the University of Toronto after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Care at Toronto Metropolitan University. Leah has worked with children, youth, and families for 12 years in a wide variety of settings, including shelters, transitional housing programs, residential care, children’s mental health, and post-secondary education. Leah’s approach combines Dialectical Behaviour Therapy with several other modalities as needed, including narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed care, relational practice, disability justice, and harm reduction.


Leah began using DBT 5 years ago while working in an intensive DBT program for adolescents and their families. Since then, Leah has continued to integrate DBT into their practice, and also developed and implemented DBT skills groups in other settings. At The DBT Clinic, Leah works with clients 14 to 30 years of age. Leah has particular experience (though not limited to) working with adolescents and young adults struggling with suicidal and self-injurious behaviours, Borderline Personality Disorder, trauma, explorations of gender and identity, disability, neurodivergence, and sexuality/sexual health. In their spare time, Leah enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, writing, meeting neighbourhood pets, and playing the saxophone.
