Kathy Chau, M.S.W., R.S.W.

Clinical Associate

Kathy (she/her) is a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Kathy completed her Bachelor and Master of Social Work at York University and has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Psychology from McMaster University. Kathy has over 30 years of experience in the adult community mental health and addictions sector, both as a front-line provider and as a clinical and administrative leader.


 

Kathy has extensive training in DBT, and experience providing individual therapy as well as leading skills groups. Kathy is skilled in treating people struggling with emotion dysregulation, suicidality, self-harm, and impulsivity. She uses a trauma-informed and non-judgmental approach to care. Kathy is committed to principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in her professional practice and life. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys hiking, canoeing, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Appa.
